Union Coin — FAQ

What is a Union Coin?

A non-transferable, zero-value governance token minted to your account when you join a union. One member = one coin. One coin = one vote. Cannot be bought, sold, or traded.

Can my employer see I have a Union Coin?

No. Union membership is privacy-shielded via stealth addresses. The only on-chain data is an encrypted counter. Your identity is never visible — not to your boss, not to the government, not even to union leadership — until you choose to unseal it for the legal recognition filing.

Can I be fired for organizing?

No. NLRA Section 8(a)(3) makes it an unfair labor practice to fire, demote, or discipline any employee for union activity. If your employer does, the NLRB will order reinstatement with full back pay — and they cannot retaliate against you for filing charges.

Do I need a lawyer?

No. NLRB charges are free to file. The NLRB investigates and prosecutes violations on your behalf. The CoCo system generates all the paperwork — recognition demand letter, NLRB RM-1 petition, press release.

What if I'm in a right-to-work state?

You can still form a union and hold a Union Coin. The difference: in RTW states, no one can be required to join or pay dues as a condition of employment. Your union still gets majority recognition, still bargains a contract, and still represents all workers.

How long does it take?

5 minutes to start. 3 weeks to reach majority (typical). 30-60 days for NLRB election if employer refuses card-check. The average CoCo union reaches recognition-ready status 8x faster than traditional paper-card organizing.
